(MCLEAN, VA) - Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) announced today that Julius “JC” Caesar, senior vice president for product development in the Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Group has been given the prestigious Blacks in Government (BIG) Meritorious Service Award for personal achievement.

The BIG Meritorious Service Award recognizes outstanding military service members and civilians who have distinguished themselves through significant contribution to their service in the global war on terrorism, the advancement of African-Americans, and the promotion of diversity and equal employment opportunity in the Department of Defense.

“We are proud to have JC on the RDT&E team,” said Trey Smith, SAIC president of the RDT&E Group. “He is an outstanding leader and has made an immediate impact in establishing product development as a significant path for growth for SAIC. We are very pleased that JC was formally recognized for his leadership and promotion of diversity.”

Caesar, a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy Reserve, received the award on August 25, 2006, in a ceremony in New York City.
