SAIC's Chris Dykton Receives Director's Award for Service to the Maternal and Child Health Bureau

February 3, 2004
(GERMANTOWN, MD) - SAIC's Enterprise and Infrastructure Solutions Group today announced that Christopher Dykton, maternal and child health subject matter expert, has earned the Director's Award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). Dr. Peter van Dyck, HRSA associate administrator for Maternal and Child Health, presented the award to Dykton in honor of his outstanding service to maternal and child health at the annual MCHB Federal/State Partnership Meeting on October 21st, 2003.

Dykton was recognized for his work during the past year in support of the Bureau's transition to a Web-based grant application and performance data collection system. Dykton has supported the MCH community for more than four years, and joined SAIC's Integrated Public Health Systems Division in 2002 as a program subject matter expert. At SAIC he supports the MCHB and its grantees in developing grant reporting requirements and systems.

“We also want to express our appreciation to Christopher for his dedication and determination to provide the customer with excellent service,” said Michael Bowers, SAIC senior vice president. "His dedication to a job well done strengthens the relationship between SAIC and HRSA.”

The Title V Information System and the Discretionary Grants Information System, developed by SAIC, are Web-based grant application and performance data management systems. These systems support approximately $1 billion in MCHB grants programs to improve the health of our nation's mothers and children. A key feature of these systems is collecting grantee performance data required by the Government Performance Results Act. MCHB is one of three HRSA Bureaus supported by SAIC's Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions Group, which also supports the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health with Web-based grant application and performance data management systems.
