SAIC Opens New Facility at Historical Rock Island Arsenal Site
1,500 Square Foot Facility Expands SAIC Support to Customers in the Quad Cities
(Rock Island, Ill.) June 7, 2011-- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it has opened a new facility, signing a new lease to occupy 1,500 square feet (sf) of office space at the historical Building 131 in Rock Island, Ill. The new facility, located on Rock Island Arsenal (RIA), will build on SAIC’s existing presence in the Quad Cities area, as well as at customer sites in the region.
Local Army leadership and federal, state and local government officials, as well as SAIC leadership, are expected to attend a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the facility on June 8 at 10:00 a.m. Confirmed speakers include SAIC’s Defense Solutions Group President, Deb Alderson, RIA Task Force Chair and former Director of TACOM, Rock Island, Jimmy Morgan, and SAIC’s Army Sustainment Account Manager, Joe Tedesco.
SAIC has supported Army and Department of Defense (DoD) programs in the area for more than six years, providing services in areas including distribution and material management, logistics, support munitions storage and resupply, information technology, and container management data collection support. The new facility will help enable SAIC’s Rock Island employees to better serve customers in the region.
